Holter Lake, Montana Trout & Clear Lake Rainbow Trout

This week on Northwest Fishing, we’re making our way to the picturesque Holter Lake, located just north of Helena, Montana. Mike Carey, and his son Matt, and their trusty dogs Duke and Murphy, set out to target the lake's renowned rainbow trout. Early in the episode, we learn about the unique characteristics of Holter Lake, a reservoir of the Missouri River, and the strategies that have proven effective for fishing here in the past. The team sets up multiple rods with different lures, including the effective Old Goat double spinner and 3D printed plugs, hoping to entice those hungry trout lurking at depths of around 35 to 50 feet.
