Lake Roosevelt Kokanee and Rainbow Trout

We're with Austin Moser of Austin's Northwest Adventures on the ever popular Lake Roosevelt. Nestled in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, this expansive lake stretches for 150 miles and is teeming with fish. Today, they are on the hunt for kokanee salmon and rainbow trout, and they’re ready to share some fantastic fishing tips and techniques along the way.

Starting at the Spring Canyon launch, Austin explains the strategy for targeting fish at the lower end of the lake, where the recent water drop has concentrated the bait and, in turn, the fish! With innovative custom planer boards, the crew sets up to cover a wide swath of water, deploying multiple lines to maximize their chances of a big catch. The crew reels in some impressive catches, and some especially large and gorgeous wild kokanee. Join us!
