Central Washington Fall Walleye

Back in eastern Washington, we meet up with Shelby Ross for fall walleye fishing on Potholes Reservoir, featuring special guests and expert techniques for a successful day on the water!

About This Episode

Northwest Fishing is back on the Potholes Reservoir as host Rob Holman teams up with expert angler Shelby Ross, Chef Adam Hegsted, and Michael Foster from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, to target fall walleye. Together, they dive into the art of bottom bouncing in search of some impressive walleye.

The duo navigates the deep waters of the reservoir, targeting rolling sand humps where walleye gather to feast on the plentiful bait fish. With a depth of 37 feet, they utilize a simple yet effective technique that involves using a Mustad slow death hook paired with jumbo night crawlers. Shelby shares invaluable tips on adjusting the rig and the importance of fishing at the right speed as the water cools down in the fall. All kinds of of other Moses Lake native fish make appearances as well, making for a bountiful harvest!
